Our History

The Sublette County Health Foundation wants to help unite a community of hospital and senior care supporters who work together to advance the health of their community.

The Sublette County Health Foundation was formed in 2022 to support the efforts to construct a new combined facility to house the Sublette County Hospital and the Sublette Center (Long Term Care Facility).

The seed for its creation was planted in 2020, after a growing swell of community support for both a hospital and a new more updated Sublette Center culminated in voters passing the formation of a Hospital District.

Sublette is the only county in the state of Wyoming without a hospital.

Funding includes a USDA Rural Development loan for $32 million with a fixed rate of 2.5%. This loan approval triggered a merger between the Sublette County Hospital District and the Sublette Center (Long Term Care Facility), uniting Sublette County healthcare under one umbrella. The Sublette County Commissioners have committed $25.4 million to the construction of a new Sublette Center. And Mr. Joe Rickett’s kicked off our fundraising efforts with an astounding $1 million donation.

With the funding complete, we are now at the stage that construction can begin on the new facility.

It’s a historic moment in Sublette County.
